Isle of Wight Towns

There are nine main towns on the Isle of Wight. Most of the islands towns are located along its coast with the majority found along the east coast. Newport is the Isle of Wight's capital and is found just north of the centre of the island on the River Medina and is the hub of the island linking all areas by road. Although Newport is the islands capital it is Ryde that is the largest town with a population of around 30,000 people and serves as the 'gateway' to the Isle of Wight.
